Event volunteers are the driving force behind our successful fundraisers. By donating your time and energy to our special events, you help raise critical funds while we provide accommodation, meals, and everyday support to remove barriers so families can remain actively involved in their child’s care.
How You Can Help? Depending on the specific fundraiser, volunteer roles often include:
Setup and Tear-Down: Helping prepare the venue before guests arrive or packing up after a successful event.
Guest Check-In: Welcoming attendees, registering guests, and answering basic questions.
Station Management: Running specific activity booths, silent auctions, or information tables.
Food and Beverage Support: Assisting with catering operations, serving snacks, or managing refreshment areas.
Throughout the year, Ronald McDonald House Northeast Kansas hosts several major fundraisers. Each of these gatherings relies on the dedication of our community to succeed. Here are our five main events where you can get involved:
Robert Lagree Memorial Sporting Clays Event: Join us outdoors for an exciting day of sporting clays. Helpers at this event often assist with registration, managing hospitality areas, and supporting the participants on the course.
Charity Golf Classic: Help us hit a hole-in-one for our guest families! We rely on friendly faces to manage check-in tables, run contests on the course, monitor specific holes, and set up the post-tournament awards banquet.
Annual Gala: Our most elegant evening of the year requires a dedicated team to run smoothly. Roles include greeting guests, assisting with the silent and live auctions, managing the registration desk, and helping decorate the venue.
Chiefs Flag Sale: Show your team spirit for Red Thursday! Every fall, supporters help us sell special edition Kansas City Chiefs flags at local community spots. It is a fast-paced, high-energy opportunity that is perfect for groups or individuals.
Fill the Pantry: This crucial drive ensures our House is stocked with daily essentials. You can assist by collecting donations, organizing supplies, sorting food items, and thanking donors as they drop off their contributions.
When the need for these volunteers arise our CEO will put out a notice asking for help and you will sign up directly with her. Check out the event page to see dates of those activities.
